Kyky wants to model
It’s just last months that my sister Kyky made her first pictorial. It was done by a friend with a Canon camera and a good lens. At the end of the shoot the photographer asled Kyky to take her own selfies with his camera. She could barely hold up the heavy equipment, but with a little help this picture emerged as the best one. She is using this for her Filipina dating profile in hope to find a few new admirers from America.
I wish her good luck to become a Makati amateur model. Rockwell Mall will be hosting a fresh talent show for new fashion models in March. That will be her first contest.
Good Night with a selfshot photo after going to Angeles City by trike patrol. It’s a similar vehicle like a tuk tuk.
Gong is goofing around
Time to say good bye to Ho Chi Minh City and my dear friend Gong. On my way back to Manila and photo modeling in the Philippines. Gong has promised to visit me next month. She wants to stay in my Makati loft on Padre Burgos Street for around three months. Nice that Vietnam is part of Asean economy circus.
Anyhow, I have my first modeling offer for LBFM stuff and possibly for the relaunch of Filipina Archives. I think we will no longer be shooting content for Manila Amateurs. There are new things out there.
Maybe I will take Gong up on her offer to start jobbing in Singapore and Bangkok. There is a very vivid photo model and promotion girl scene in both locations with many great offers for atttractive and spiffy models like us.
I will post again, once I am use to being back in th Philippines. I will miss Gong and Vietnamese food. Back to Adobo and Sinigang.
Big smile from Ho Chi Minh City: My Vietnam girlfriend
I have been very inactive over the past 6 months or so and apologize for that. My job and heart were melted in Vietnam. During my vacations to Saigon I met a my new Vietnamese girlfriend Gongama or in short Gong. Gong introduced me to model agents in Vietnam and it’s a much nicer place than the Philippines for me. Soon we will be shooting bikini fashion in Langkawi Malaysia for a sportwear company based inAustralia. Hope to post the images shortly. Beach, Filipina babe am I coming.
At one time my friend Ann approached me to pose for video chat. Basically, all I was supposed to do is pose in front of a webcam wearing underwear or a bikini. Ann said it was very good money, but I thought is was boring and guys in my chat room were rather unpolite and rude. It was nothing for me, really. My friend Ann moved to Subic Bay where she opened an Asian Filipina Chat studio and invites members for a Philippine vacation. It was a success story for her, but I always had the idea, chat guests were interested in other stuff than just adoring a Manila amateur model like myself.
I visited Subic once in 2011 and found it a peaceful, but very boring place. If I would live there I would probably start to like the idea of chatting with a webcam, but Makati City and Metro Manila are much more exciting.
light meter for proper exposure
During my first photo shooting I became very interested in photography and learned a lot from James, the guy with the big Nikon camera. It’s a pretty time consuming affair to set up lights and reflectors, but it is important to catch a good mood. But as a Manila amateur photo model I did not see too much of that. The first thing I got in contact with was a light meter. It’s a little black box with a digital display and a light sensor. It measures density of light when it hits an object or person. Film sensitivity and speed are entered and when the flash lights fire, this light meter will calculate proper aperture settings. James explained to me that this manual way of metering light when it was hitting my Filipina body was more reliable than sensors inside cameras as those you be distracted by other light influences such as reflexions. I was impressed about how much preparation would go into my first amateur model shoot. I still have this funny picture of mine where I hold James’ light meter for the first time.
That's me: Maxine
I am greeting you to my new blog here on WordPress. I am 20 years old and from Manila in the Philippines. Actually, I am still attending nursing school in Philippines Women’s University PWU on Taft Avenue in Ermita, but the reason why I started my own blog is: I am a part time photo model. Yes, I am just a Manila amateur model and not a celebrity, but you have start somewhere. Last year I was going out with friends to Greenbelt mall in Makati while we were approached by a model scout. He invited me and my friends to a photo casting in Quezon City, close by to GMA TV stations. It was so exciting and cool. Ever since I have been modelling. Some of my pics got published on Flickr, Model Place, Facebook and in printed magazine and websites. It’s pretty tough to get commercial assignments, but I do get a lot of requests from private amateur photographers and it’s a lot of fun. I want to post my experiences as an amateur Filipina model in my blog and show some of my pictures and my friend’s as well. Hope you will like it. If you are another model or photographer, let’s connect: maybe we can do some shoots and work together.
Kisses from Manila
